Listen to Shakira's cover of The XX's song "Islands". A snippet of this remake leaked back in May but it wasn't until today that we could hear it in its entirety. Shakira's "Islands" will be included on her upcoming bilingual album "Sale El Sol" due out next week. By the way, the Colombian pop star had actually debuted this cover this summer at Glastonbury Festival (Watch below). Shakira sings "Islands" pretty well, and has tried hard to make it her own but STILL I think the original is untouchable. I'm very picky when it comes to mainstream artists covering songs from indie bands sorry. Love Shakira regardless but I'm more excited to hear her NEW stuff. So bring that now!
