Irish band Westlife stopped by IN:Demand FM last night to premiere a full new track entitled "Beautiful Tonight" which will appear on their upcoming CD "Gravity" - in stores in the UK & Ireland on November 22nd - Now this is much better! Although it reminds of Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" (kinda like an upbeat version of it), I gotta say "Beautiful Tonight" is definitely one of Westlife's best songs in a loooong time IMO and miles better than "Safe" of course. Kudoz especially to Mark for an impressive vocal display in this new tune. Why didn't they pick this song for the lead single? I don't get it. Anyhow, second single should be then. Westlife's last album "Where We Are" (2009) was certified double platinum in the UK and triple platinum in Ireland so "Gravity" has some big shoes to fill in. (Source: directlyrics.com)

Irish group Westlife are set to release their as-yet-untitled ELEVENTH album this November 15th - Wow, can't believe it was in 1999 when these guys released "Swear It Again" and "Flying Without Wings" - Anyhow, Westlife's new CD will be preceded by the lead single "Safe" - The pop ballad premiered today - October 5th - on UK radios. Oh well, I think Westlife have gotten to the point where they just can't make bad songs. "Safe" is good, it has Westlife's typical moving/heart-warming lyrics but I just think the Irish lads have made waaay better first singles in the past. Plus, I just read they recorded the new album only two months ago in L.A and that it was entirely produced by John Shanks (Miley Cyrus, Natasha Bedingfield). I don't mind it being done by only one producer, but it's the timing that bothers me. I feel this eleventh project is way too rushed. I mean, Westlife released their last album "Where We Are" in November 2009...so. I'm convinced if they had taken more time to think concepts, get producers etc, they would have recorded a better first single. Just saying. "Safe" will be released in the UK & Ireland on November 7th. (Source: directlyrics.com)
